Located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Easley is only 30
minutes from Greenville and a fun place to discover with the kids. It's
famous for its scenic 7.5-mi Doodle Trail, a path built along a railway
line, and proximity to many hiking trails, waterfalls, and lakes. There are also many cool small parks, some of which we visited.
1. City of Easley Recreation Center
There are two, separate brand-new play areas. The first one is located right next to the recreation center with a large covered pavilion next to it. the play area is mostly shaded with artificial grass for safe play. The second is behind the sports fields and geared toward older kids. It’s a nice playground, but it sits in the open sun, so the slides can get pretty hot.
2. Pope Field Park
It has a large play structure with a swing set and a covered pavilion nearby. There are some cool features like a snake slide and multiple climbing pieces, but what truly makes this park so cool is the goats. They leisurely nibble on grass and roam around the fenced-off field next to the playground. A sign on the fence says you can feed them too.
3. Doodle Park
A small, clean, and well-maintained park with an obstacle course-type playground, a stand-alone spinning feature, and a fitness loop around it.
Have you been to any of them?
