Westside Park

Located right next to the Westside Aquatic Complex, this playground features two separate play structures for older and younger kids. Overhead wheels, tons of slides, climbing features and the ground covered in fallen autumn leaves made this outing fun for the kids.

Westside Park

This is one of Grenville County Rec’s largest parks. It features soccer fields, baseball diamonds, and a large playground next to the Greenville County Aquatic Complex. And while the center itself is the biggest attraction for visitors, the playground is also worth a visit if you're in the area.

We were at SWAMP RABBIT CAFE when we decided to check out what else there was in the area for kids. After a quick internet search we found Westside Park in a 5-minute drive from the cafe. We immediately decided to make a stop there to let the kids work their wiggles out and didn't regret it one bit. There was a fairly big playground with lots of features to slide, climb and crawl.

The main piece of the playground is a multi-functional play structure with arch ladders, slide climbers, swiveling monkey rings, rock walls and more for children to build strength and endurance.

Kids love to climb and this play piece provides endless climbing options.

The playground is in the sun, but a covered pavilion and shaded benches are a few steps away to give you a desired respite.

A few steps from the play structure for older kids, there's also a peewee play area with a baby swing set and a low-level structure to entice younger children.

The playground is compact and it is easy to see what is happening on the other side of it. If you have several children of different ages playing in different parts of the playground, it will be quite easy to keep an eye on them.

The entire play area is only partially shaded, so plan to use plenty of sun protection or go early in the morning or later in the evening on hot days. The playground is not fenced off from the nearby parking lot, so if you've got escape artists be ready to keep tabs on all their movements.

All in all, it's a nice playground that can be a nice add-on to your visit to the aquatic center. Aspiring little daredevils will appreciate all the features that were designed to test their endurance, speed, and agility.

Good to know:

- Big traditional playground
- Aquatic complex with an indoor pool
- Covered pavilion adjacent to the playground
- Big parking lot
- No restrooms

Plus, Westside Park is in close proximity to the other large cool parks in the downtown area, such as UNITY PARK and Cleveland Park.
