Toccoa Falls, GA

If you are looking for an easy waterfall hike within a short drive of Greenville with the view of a lifetime, this is Toccoa Falls. Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia, the 186-ft waterfall is one of the tallest falls east of the Mississippi River.

The falls are massive and rush over a vertical cliff into a plunge pool below to then  trail off into a narrow stream. A lot of shaded pockets with benches around the falls provide a comfortable atmosphere to stay for a while to breathe it all in even on scorching summer days.

No swimming is allowed at the falls. But there are plenty of rocks at the base of the falls to sit on and dip your toes into the water. The caress of stream is soothing, tempting you to stay in this tranquil babble for a while.

Just watch your footing and step carefully. The rocks are slippery from constant mist.
