Adjacent to the Mauldin Sports Center, City Center Park in Mauldin, SC, underwent an impressive renovation several years ago. Drawing inspiration from the fitness courses, this park brims with a variety of exciting play structures designed to encourage children of all ages to be active.
Among the elements are the balance log, standing spinner, a variety of climbing challenges, just to name a few. These fun additions introduce a daring dimension to the experience, letting little daredevils get a kick out of unique fitness challenges.
The number of slides, including single and multi-person, enclosed and open, was a nice surprise. What can beat an exhilarating ride down an all-time staple? You will never age out of this.
Little kids will love the fenced-in preschool area. With slides, climbing features and swings sized right for them, they will explore and play for hours. There's also a pretty cool merry-go-round. It has the center handhold that allows kids spin it on their own while remaining seated. Plus, the latching gate will keep little ones and runners safely contained.
This section is perfectly suited for crawlers and early walkers with a faux grass for safe play and all the play essentials.

One of the park's coolest attractions is its collection of public art installations that dot the walking trail to the sports center.

In addition to all its beauty, the park offers covered picnic areas adjacent to play areas, restrooms, and plenty of open green space for picnicking or playing outdoor games. The park's trail is also great for walking or jogging.
The playground isn't overly large, but it's a well-thought-out and vibrant place with a bright look that blends in and complements nicely its surroundings.

There's always something exciting to see and do here. During summer months, you can have a play date or a scavenger hunt around the park to win prizes with Park Hop! For Christmas, the park gets illuminated by a Christmas tree. There's also the Pop’s Cabin Creamery, an ice cream concession stand that serves hand-scooped ice cream, milkshakes, sno-cones, and much more.
