There's a huge number of hiking trails around Greenville. Here's the top 10 we recently enjoyed. They are all fun, easy, and kid-friendly.
1. Fernwood Nature Trail, Greenville, SC
Distance: 0.5 mi out &back
Located right across from a playground in Cleveland Park, this easy and flat trail is a fun way to turn a simple trip to the playground into a little adventure.
2. Interpretive Trail at Hagood Mill, Pickens, SC
Distance: less than a mile
Based on the Old Indian Path, the Interpretive Trail across from the mill includes ancient petroglyphs and many exhibits along the way.
3. Jones Gap Falls, Cleveland, SC
Distance: 3.5 mi out & back, moderately challenging
The hike is mostly uphill along the river and takes you right to the base of a 50-foot waterfall.
If visiting on weekends and major holidays, you must make a parking reservation online at least 24 hours in advance.
4. Leroy Smith Nature Trail at Pleasant Ridge Park
Distance: less than a mile out and back
A short but scenic trail with plenty of exposed roots, a tucked-away waterfall, and a few play structures by the lake.
5. Carrick Creek Loop at Table Rock State Park
Distance: 2-mi loop
A scenic trail with dozens of small cascading falls along the path. Turn left at the fork at the beginning of the trail to avoid a steep rocky ascent.
6. Blue Wall Preserve, Landrum, SC

8. South Carolina Botanical Garden, Clemson, SC
Distance: 295-acre park that has both paved and natural trails
There’s a children’s garden, a nice pond with a feeding station for turtles, and many easy trails to walk along. The garden is especially lovely in the spring when many flowers are in full bloom.

There are lots of easy trails for all ages and abilities.
