Gower Park is a tucked-away neighborhood park with sports fields, a disk golf course, covered picnic tables, trails, and a nice shaded playground with a kid-friendly zip line. On top of this, the playground is conveniently nestled in the shade of towering trees, making it ideal place to visit on a sunny afternoon in Greenville.
Gower Park
This 21-acre park is a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet. Nestled between the towering trees that provide ample shade for the playground and surrounding areas, Gower Park is our go-to spot for a picnic, outdoor play or simply a change of scenery.
It has one well-shaded big structure in the middle of a play area with the trees providing a natural shade.
To the side you will find the hold-and-spin spinner
a traditional swing set
and a zipline, which we really enjoyed to the fullest.
With the seat close to the ground, a shallow incline, and a very minimal kick-back at the ends of the rope, my 4-year-old could easily get on and off the seat and push herself all the way through on her own.
There are shaded pavilions throughout the park that are perfect for a picnic or birthday parties.
Overall, this is a nice, quiet neighborhood park that is ideal to visit on a sunny afternoon to play in the shade of tall trees.
Gower Park playground was a part of the Greenville's Neighborhood Park Program (NPP) initiative that replaces out-of-date playground equipment every year. Here are some more parks that underwent renovation:
