Holmes Park in Greenville, SC

Holmes Park is a compact obstacle course full of some cool features, such as a swinging bridge, a rope tunnel, and a stand-n-spin you could rarely see in neighborhood settings. Designed for older kids with an element of risk at every turn, this playground could be so much fun for little daredevils.

This compact neighborhood playground is unique in many ways. Not a single play structure has standard steps or ramps, it’s all climbing, crawling, spinning, and balancing features. Kids may need to use all their strength, balancing and hand-foot coordination skills to get through the obstacles.

My almost 5-year-old was able to manage only half the equipment, but she had a blast testing her limits wholeheartedly on each one of them.

A sprawling old oak by the playground is another wonder of the park. It invites kids to interact with nature and make up their own games.
