The Ultimate Family Weekend Getaway in Brevard, NC

Sunday, June 14, 2026

The historic red brick Transylvania County Courthouse tower in downtown Brevard, North Carolina, viewed behind a street intersection with a white squirrel light decoration mounted on top of the traffic light pole.

For years, our family treated Brevard, North Carolina, as nothing more than a pit stop.We would stretch our legs on the way to Looking Glass Falls, or pass right through during our other mountain excursions. We never gave it a second thought. We never took the time to actually pull over, park the car, and explore what Brevard itself had to offer. What a mistake that was—and what a massive surprise it turned out to be.

Hilton Head Island Feels Like Someone Designed the PERFECT Vacation for Families

Harbour Town, Waterfront Community of Hilton Head

You know those trips where the kids are happy, the parents are relaxed, nobody is asking “what are we doing next?” every five minutes… and somehow the day just flows? That’s exactly what Hilton Head Island felt like for us. One minute we were walking under giant live oaks beside a lighthouse, the next we were exploring hidden boardwalks through the marsh, the next playing tag with water, and somehow we still ended the day at a pirate ship playground by the water.

Treetop Canopy Walk at Lynches River County Park

Tucked away in Florence County, Lynches River County Park is one of those places that completely blows you away. Honestly, we’ve been to so many parks over the years, but this one just hit different the second we parked. It has this incredible 147-foot treetop canopy walk right through the forest, plus a newly updated splash pad that kids absolutely love. It is definitely not your average county park.

Hatcher Garden's Playscape in Spartanburg, SC

We found a hidden nature playscape in Spartanburg, SC. On a quick pit stop after church, we stopped by Hatcher Garden to stretch our legs and enjoy a spring walk—and it turned into such a great outing. We’ve been coming here for years and have watched the Children’s Garden slowly evolve—starting with the sand pit added in 2025, and now with so much more. On our last visit, we were honestly blown away by everything that’s been done.

Why Bluffton, SC Might Be the Prettiest Small Town in South Carolina

Church of the Cross in Bluffton, SC

Tucked along the May River, this little town is the kind of place you wander… and somehow end up loving every single corner of it. There’s something about Bluffton that feels softer. Slower. Like time isn’t rushing you along. Maybe it’s the way the moss drapes over the old oak trees, or how the sunlight filters through in that warm, golden glow you don’t quite notice anywhere else—but here, you feel it.
